From the archive: Ashin Wirathu

Ashin Wirathu (centre), the spiritual leader of Burma's Buddhist Nationalist anti-Muslim movement 969 group, takes a midday meal offered by regular citizens at Mosayein Monastery in central Mandalay. Wirathu, who was jailed in 2003 for inciting religious hatred, refers to himself as "the Burmese Bin Laden".
