World Press Freedom Day

The world commemorates today the World Press Freedom Day, an occasion to reaffirm the right to inform and the right to access information, without which democracy is impossible.

There are 40 names on this year’s Reporters Without Borders list of predators: 40 politicians, government officials, religious leaders, militias and criminal organisations that cannot stand the press, treat it as an enemy and directly attack journalists.
